MSU–Mankato E-Sports Lounge — Environmental Graphics & Production

This project was a particularly fun one for me because it brought together my connection to Minnesota State University, Mankato—my alma mater—with my role as a designer and print professional. While I was designing the graphics for the new E-Sports Lounge, my son was a sophomore at MSU–Mankato, which made it especially rewarding to create something for a space where I knew students like him would spend time.

I designed and produced a complete environmental graphics package that balanced MSU’s established brand guidelines with the bold, energetic aesthetic of competitive e-sports. The project included a large-scale wall wrap, a custom-cut glass wall graphic that intentionally left areas of exposed glass while providing privacy where needed, and a sponsor wall featuring acrylic panels that could showcase current sponsor logos. I loved the challenge of taking a university brand with a strong visual identity and pushing it into a younger, more dynamic environment without losing that connection to the school. From concept and design through large-format production and installation, I helped transform the space into an immersive environment that feels like it belongs to both MSU–Mankato and the next generation of competitive gamers.
